What are the symptoms of Hypothyroidism?

One symptom that many people hypothyroidism have is weight gain and depression…but a common way to ease the effects of these symptoms is going gluten free!! As my mother and I both suffer from hypothyroidism, it can be hard gaining weight even though we are both fairly healthy eaters. It is also hard to work out since another common symptom of hypothyroidism is fatigue.

Gluten is a family of proteins found in grains like wheat, rye, spelt and barley.

So how can we help those who have decided to go gluten-free?

  • The answer is by helping those in schools have the same opportunities in cafeterias! It is important to notice that most lunch items, for example: pasta, chicken nuggets, burgers, pizza, etc all have gluten in them. School cafeterias should provide gluten free options for students who choose to buy school lunch.
